CUT A RUG: This is a slang expression for dancing. It originates from the idea that you may have to move rugs out of the way to dance or can describe someone who dances so much that they wear a hole in the rug.

A broken heart is a common metaphor used to describe someone that is experiencing great emotional pain. It refers to the physical pain a person may feel in the chest as a result of loss. It is commonly used to describe the end of a relationship.

The 2013 conference focused on preparing for adulthood and all that comes with it: family transitions, living and working in the community, and the goal of independence. l learned from teaching and behavioral experts on best practices, gained insights about raising girls on the spectrum, and shared the lighter side of autism through humor. For the second year in a row, the conference was sold out with over 800 people attending the two-day event. The Monkey Bars

The Monkey Bars story and cartoon are featured in our book, Unintentional Humor™ on page 25. The “Monkey Bars” are a common term for playground equipment because children climb and swing on them, acting similarly to monkeys living in the wild.
